Call me by my true names

Bodybuilders like good poetry that inspires. Call me by my true names is the collective poems by Thich Nhat Hanh. They are clear and still with piercing images. One can take a lot from their rare delicacy and dependable insight. Some of the poems defuse you with their honest love and deep touch but some are full of pain and compassion capable to open even the most indurate of a heart. Belonging to a Vietnam war generation and being a tireless peace activist, Thich Nhat Hanh wrote a lot about war. These are not an easy read, bone crushing and blood chilling images. But, surprisingly, even they carry peace and love which is almost beyond my comprehension.

The collection of poems is divided into two parts named Historical Dimension and Ultimate Dimension . I hope these fragments of poems will seep into you as they did into me. If language seems too simplified to you, the spirituality and power is a true poetic pleasure.
